Mercury is named after the Roman god of messages and communication, perhaps because it races around the sun every 88 days, travelling faster than any other planet.
The temperatures on Mercury's crater-peppered surface vary significantly, reaching 430 degrees Celsius (800 degrees Fahrenheit) and going as low as -180 degrees Celsius (-290 degrees Fahrenheit) during the night.
The planet is mostly grey and with the new photos release from NASA's MESSENGER spacecraft, the human eye can also perceive a slight brownish hue. This watch design is intended to reflect that with the combination of a dial and bezel made of oak, and a stainless-steel silver case.
- Case: 44mm diameter, made of oak wood and stainless steel in silver
- Dial: Oak
- Movement: Quartz movement by Citizen
- Band: Dark blue genuine leather
